In case you haven’t heard, last week a 10% deposit bail bill was killed in committee in Louisiana. The bill is part of ongoing efforts to abolish commercial bail bonding in the state. Thanks to the individual efforts of bail bond agents on the ground in Louisiana, LA H 398, a bill designed to expand 10% deposit bail was killed in committee. We would like to extend a hearty congratulations and thank you to all that were involved in the process. We are also happy to report that reprints of the Philadelphia Inquirer story provided by our team to those on the ground in Louisiana were extremely valuable in explaining the failures of 10% deposit bail to committee members. If you have not seen a copy of this reprint and would like one, please email our team at [email protected] to receive one.
