Mississippi Bail Agents Association Meetings

January 14, 2011Posted by Eric Granofin News

The Mississippi Bail Agents Association had its annual board of directors meeting on January 4, 2011. Attendees included members of the association, legislators, 19 board members, Sen. Billy Hewes and Mike Cheny, the Commissioner of Insurance. It took place at The Old Capitol Inn located in Jackson, MS.

The board has begun its search for a new executive director as Rebecca Ainsworth has tendered her resignation effective Friday, January 7, 2011. A discussion was held regarding the previous success of sponsoring the “A Christmas Salute to Law Enforcement” and the association decided to pay a $5,000 sponsorship this year.

The Treasurer, Gene Newman, announced that the association is sound with a healthy bank balance. The Legislative report given by Al Sage included that the association met with the department of insurance to iron out any differences or objections they may have over the proposed legislation language.

The general meeting was held on January 5, 2011. Presenters included the following: Patty Hodges, Association President; District Attorney for Rankin and Madison counties; and Guy Ruggiero, President of the Association of Louisiana Bail Underwriters. To close the meeting, Ed Sheppard from AIA was asked to speak on bail bond related issues.
