PBT Meeting Update and Upcoming Association Meetings

February 9, 2011Posted by Eric Granofin News

The Professional Bondsmen of Texas (PBT) quarterly meeting was held at the Hilton Westchase Hotel in Houston on January 27 and 28. Glenn Strickland noted that in this year’s Texas legislative session there was almost an 80% difference in the number of bills filed. The current economic situation is preventing anyone from asking for anything that will cost money and/or higher taxes. To promote the bail bond industry and make it easy for our elected officials to access our research and knowledge base, Ken Good suggested putting as much as possible in writing so that legislative staff members are able to cut and paste for their operations.

AIA developed and published a brochure called Texas: The Need for Accountability. Its purpose is to inform the public about “free” bail bond programs (Pretrial Release) used around the country. This brochure was well received by PBT committee members and will be used at Rotary Clubs, Tea Party meetings and other political gatherings and conventions.
