We wanted to pass on some great news to bail bond agents across the country. Yesterday, in Virginia, the subcommittee of the Courts of Justice Committee, passed HB 728 on to the full committee. HB 728 eliminates pretrial release for everyone except the truly indigent. The committee is chaired by Delegate Albo, who is also the sponsor of the bill.
Passage in the House looks very good and then on to the Senate. ALEC’s Michael Hough testified in favor of the bill at yesterday’s hearing, and was well received.
