OCBAA Lawsuit Claims Bail Bond Agents are Soliciting, Not Advertising

Bail bond agents have been walking a thin line between advertising and solicitation in Santa Ana, CA. Outside of local jails and police stations, they hand out fliers or park their SUVs with large graphics promoting their services.

These bail bond companies say that what they are doing is legal since they are licensed by Santa Ana. However, the Orange County Bail Agents Association thinks differently. They just issued a lawsuit claiming that this is actually solicitation, which is illegal in California. “It is sort of like giving a solicitors license to a hooker who would leave out the details,” the lawsuit states.
