Much like ALEC, the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) has recognized the need for a stronger legislative focus on corrections and sentencing policies. In a recent announcement, NCSL published its top 10 legislative issues for 2010 with “Sentencing and Correction Costs” being identified as its #5 issue.
