Staying at the forefront of legislative action is important to AIA and its family of agents. Back in February, we launched an education campaign to legislators in states with pretrial release agencies. At that time, we partnered with ALEC in sending a letter to 3,200 state legislators, advising them of ALEC’s position on pretrial release. We also included a copy of AIA’s “Taxpayer Funded Pretrial Release: A Failed System” booklet.
This week we continue this partnership and have sent another 2,500 letters and booklets, completing the mailing to all pretrial release state legislators, which totals 40 states. Partnering with organizations like ALEC will assist in educating key decision makers on the failures of this system for the betterment of our communities’ safety and spending of our valuable tax dollars.
