Sharing the Love: ExpertBail and Sheriffs

June 23, 2011Posted by Eric Granofin News

In our continued support of Sheriffs around the country, AIA/ExpertBail attended the National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) Conference this past week in St. Louis.  While most of the attendees were a little shocked to see a bail bond brand represented at the conference that didn’t stop our team from introducing themselves and explaining ExpertBail.  Over the four day period of the conference, the AIA/ExpertBail team was able to speak with hundreds of sheriffs around the country.

The discussions were lively and inspirational and topics ranged from how does bail really work, to what is ExpertBail, to how can we work better together.  By the end of the conference, many of the attending sheriffs were not only hanging out in the ExpertBail booth, but had signed up to receive additional information.

While at the conference, we conducted a brief survey with the sheriffs.  We wanted to find out the general perception of attendees towards the bail bond industry…did they think we were an important part of the criminal justice system, did they ever interact with bail agents, do they know any bail agents that are former law enforcement, etc.  All in all, the survey was taken by well over 150 sheriffs and the results are very positive.  Here are some highlights:

How important is the role of a bail agent in the criminal justice system?
Very important  75%
Somewhat important 22%
Not important at all 3%

When you think of a bail bond agent, which of the following words come to mind? (Check all that apply)
Professional   62%
Caring  16%
Intimidating 13%
Dishonest 5%
Unethical  10%

Are you interested in learning more about ExpertBail and what we are doing to protect victims and change the face of bail?
Yes 46%

One of the biggest hits of the show was the “I Love My Sheriff” button with the ExpertBail logo.  By the end of the show everyone was wearing one.  We even heard reports that they were spotted on people sightseeing around St. Louis.  The team also handed out a number of other ExpertBail branded items including everything from t-shirts to Koozies to footballs.  We look forward to continuing our conversations with the number of sheriffs’ associations across the country.  We also invite our agents to reach out to their local sheriffs’ association and show thier support by participating at their local events.  If you have any questions at all, please give our team a call at 800.935.2245 or email [email protected].
