October 11-13, 2009 – California Bail Agents Association

October 29, 2009Posted by Eric Granofin News

The California Bail Agents Association held its annual conference in mid October.  The conference kicked off with Association President Barry Pearlstein giving a firm yet emotional state of the industry update which included a long list of challenges including unsupervised trial release, Kiosks in the jails, increased competition, illegal solicitation by agents, price cutting and irresponsible credit terms being offered by agents.  Elections took place with Al Lopez being voted in as the new President of the CBAA.  Fugitive recovery, online education and the launch of the new CBAA website were also on the agenda during the 30th annual event.  Additionally, presentations were given by several key legislators and state/local representatives including California House Of Representative Curt Hagman, Los Angeles City Attorney Carmen Trutanich and Lake County Supervisor Rob Brown.  For more information on the California Bail Agents Association, visit their website at www.cbaa.com.
