The Florida Surety Agents Association (FSAA) held a meeting on Friday, January 21st in Winter Park, Florida. There was much discussion regarding pretrial release<\/a> programs, which are present in 28 of the 67 Florida counties.  Proposed pretrial legislation, SB 372, was discussed. This past weekend, The FSAA sent representatives to attend the Florida Sheriffs’ Association Conference to help reinforce positive relations with the sheriffs. The Board of Directors is also considering several changes in the bylaws, which will be submitted for approval at the next meeting. Online continuing education classes are being developed and are expected to be operating in mid-2011. Current membership in the FSAA now exceeds 345. The FSAA Summer Membership Meeting will be held in St. Petersburg, FL in July, 2011 in conjunction with the PBUS Summer Conference.
