\"bailMaybe the Essie Justice Group and the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors should do a little research before they start complaining about the bail system in Los Angeles and dishing out millions of taxpayer dollars to fund ineffective pretrial programs.<\/p>\n

According to this latest article, The Essie Justice Group with support from the LA County Supervisors are demanding that Los Angeles set up and fund a pretrial services agency to help incarcerated moms. Well folks, here is a little news flash on that…literally, all you have to do is Google “Los Angeles County Pretrial Services” and you will see that Los Angeles County has had one of the most robust pretrial service agencies in the country…SINCE 1963!!!!!!<\/p>\n

People are not sitting in jail because they are poor or because LA doesn’t have appropriate services….they have all the services they need, but even those organizations will not help those individuals because they know that they will only reoffend. That is why anyone is sitting in jail in LA County…not because they are poor or because the bail industry is evil…it is because everyone knows they are high risk and a danger to the community. Their family knows, their friends know, and pretrial services knows.<\/p>\n
