In May 2007, AIA President & CEO, Brian Nairin, presented Yolanda Smalls, an officer of the National Black Bail Agents Network a donation in the amount of $4,200.00. This donation was made in support of the NBBAN’s Annual Conference which was held last June in Atlanta, Georgia.
AIA selected the donation amount in honor of the 60th anniversary of Jackie Robinson (who wore the 42 jersey for the Brooklyn Dodgers) breaking the color barrier in baseball. Major League Baseball had celebrated this milestone earlier this year.
AIA’s Chief Legal Officer, Jerry Watson, an invited speaker at the conference, was highly impressed by the event. “This is a stellar organization. After being in existence for only three years, their depth of quality, organizational skills and dedication to professionalism was evident at every turn.” Jerry said. “ Watch this group – they are really going someplace!”
