James D. Portman

James D. Portman is Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer/General Counsel for AIA, having over 35 years of legal and business experience in the insurance and securities industries. Mr. Portman leads the AIA Legal, Compliance/Regulatory and Claims Departments and is directly responsible for all AIA corporate legal affairs. Mr. Portman graduated from the University of California, Davis, and California Western School of Law, admitted in 1986 to practice law in California.
